About the Purchase

Do you charge for estimates?

We offer free estimates. Please feel free to contact us.

I have a lot of dusty old books.

Although not all old books are eligible for purchase prices, some books and printed materials from the Edo period and old photographs and original documents from the Meiji and early Showa periods are especially rare and valuable. We will assess them appropriately based on their current market value.

I cannot explain the details of the book since it is a relative’s collection.

We will be happy to answer as many questions as you can tell us. Simply call us and ask us a few questions, and we will be happy to answer them.
Alternatively, please take a picture of your books as they appear on the shelves and send it to us via the purchase form. This will give us a rough idea of the contents and quantity of books in your collection.

We have a large stack full of books.

No problem. We will ask you in advance about the overall volume and contents. We will prepare trucks and staff accordingly.

Should I pack or otherwise put it together before the trip?

There is no need to do so. We will do the work of “packing in boxes” and “tying with string”. We will evaluate your books in their original condition, as they are stored on a bookshelf or in a warehouse.

Are there any books that you do not accept for purchase?

Some books are not priced at current market prices. Examples include old encyclopedias, complete works of literature, indexes, and treatise magazines. Books in extremely poor condition also fall into this category. However, if there are other books that can be purchased, we will assess the book as a whole, and upon consultation, we will take it back together if it is within the range where there is no problem in terms of cost.

If I send it by courier, will it not be returned?

If the purchase price cannot be agreed upon, the item will be returned by cash on delivery. We appreciate your understanding.
